I manage training content for a mid-size company and our LMS only accepts MP4 under 2GB. A lot of our source material comes in weird formats — WebM from screen recordings, MOV from iPhones, even some old AVI files. Cisdem converts everything to a uniform MP4 format and I can batch-process 20-30 files at once. The audio sync is spot-on too, which was a problem I had with Freemake where the audio would drift after about 10 minutes. Dropped one star because the download feature sometimes fails on password-protected Vimeo links, but for pure conversion it's excellent.

Before Cisdem I was using one app for format conversion, another for DVD ripping, and a browser extension for downloading videos. This does all three and does them well. Last week I ripped a season of a TV show from DVD, downloaded a couple of tutorial videos from YouTube, and converted both to MP4 for my phone — all in the same app. The queue system lets me load everything up and walk away. On my desktop with a Ryzen 7 the hardware acceleration kicks in automatically and conversion speeds are genuinely impressive. Easily the most useful software purchase I've made this year.
