I use AppCrypt for Mac to block distracting websites during work hours and to require a password before opening a few sensitive apps. Setup was straightforward and the block list is easy to manage. I like that it can lock apps individually and also block sites by category and schedule, so I can keep social media off during the day and lift the restriction in the evening. It runs quietly in the background and has not slowed down my Mac. For anyone wanting basic self-control or parental-style limits without a complicated setup, this does exactly what it promises.

What I like most about AppCrypt is that it can password-protect individual apps, not just websites. I use it to lock a few finance and messaging apps so they cannot be opened without my password. The lock screen is clean and unlocking is quick when I need access. It gives me peace of mind when I step away from my Mac in a shared office.

AppCrypt for Mac is small, fast, and does one job well: locking apps and blocking websites. I was worried a blocker would slow my machine or crash, but it has been rock solid for months. The interface is straightforward, the block categories cover what I need, and requiring a password to change settings means I cannot cheat myself out of focus time. Genuinely useful.

I set up AppCrypt on my child's Mac to keep them off certain websites and apps during homework time. The category blocking and scheduling made it easy to allow educational sites while blocking games and social media until the evening. My kid cannot easily disable it, which is exactly what I needed. Setup was far less painful than I expected.

The scheduling in AppCrypt for Mac is what keeps me using it. I block news and social sites on weekdays until 6 pm and lift everything on weekends. It is flexible enough that I can whitelist specific sites I need for work. The app stays out of the way and does not nag me. If you want structure without willpower, this delivers.

I’ve been using AppCrypt for months now, and it’s been very stable. The app schedules and website blocks work exactly as expected.

I set up AppCrypt on the family iMac so my teenagers can't access Steam and social media after 9 PM on school nights. The scheduling feature is clutch — I don't have to remember to lock anything. Kids tried to find a workaround and gave up after a day. That's all the proof I need.

Freelancing from home means my biggest enemy is my own browser. I blocked Twitter, Reddit, and YouTube during work hours and my productivity shot up. The app runs silently in the background and I never get tempted to 'just check' anymore because I literally can't.

I have ADHD and the Pomodoro technique never worked for me because I'd just open Facebook anyway. With AppCrypt I set a schedule — social media blocked from 9 to 5, unlocked after. No willpower needed. It just works and I actually get stuff done now.

My roommate and I share a Mac and I wanted to keep my Photos app and a few finance apps locked down. AppCrypt does exactly that — she can use the Mac for her stuff and my private apps stay behind a password. Simple solution to a simple problem.
