Cisdem PDF Converter OCR User Guide

Cisdem PDF Converter OCR can multiple convert PDF to docx, xlsx, pptx, pages, key, txt and so on. With OCR function, it can convert scanned PDF into searchable PDF and other documents. Cisdem PDF Converter OCR also allows you to create PDF from docx, pptx, html, epub, etc. To facilitate your user of Cisdem PDF Converter OCR, there are four parts to get started.

 

Part 1  Download & Install

1. You can download the installation package of Cisdem PDF Converter OCR from the below link.

Free Download

2. Install Cisdem PDF Converter OCR with the downloaded package.

Double-click the .dmg file.

Drag the Cisdem PDF Converter OCR icon to Applications folder.

Part 2  Activation (Optional)

After installing the program, you need to activate the program if you want to use the full version features.

1. Go to Lauchpad or Applications folder, double click Cisdem PDF Converter OCR to run the program, and then click the key icon in the top right corner.

2. Copy-n-paste the license code into the popped-up window, click Activate.

Part 3 Application Operating

Part 3.1 How to convert PDF/scanned PDF to DOCX?

Step 1 Add PDFs

There are 3 ways to add the PDFs:

1. Drag-n-drop the target PDFs on the main interface directly

2. Click  button, select the target PDFs in the pop-up window, click Open

3. Click File> Add Files… on the menu bar, select the target PDFs in the pop-up window, click Open

 

To delete the added PDFs, there are 2 ways below:

1. Select the target PDFs, click  button

2. Click File> Clear All, then all the added PDFs will be cleared

 

Tips: If you want to convert a password protected PDF, you need to click icon of PDF list to enter the open password.

 

Step 2 Select range (Optional)

If you don't want to convert all pages, you can select "Range”, type the page's number you want to convert and separate the page number with comma.

Step 3 Select the output format as "to DOCX"

Click  to select the output format as "to DOCX"

Tips:

If you want to to more settings to get an acurate result, you can click  after the output format to change advanced settings.

1. Priority: Cisdem priorities text recognition by default, you can also change the priority to text layout.

2. OCR Recognition:

a. All File: Normally Cisdem will auto recognized the imported PDF is image-based or not, and choose to use OCR or not. If Cisdem fails to use the OCR function to the image-based PDF file, you can choose "All File" to force using OCR with the imported PDF file.

b. Disable OCR recognition: If the PDF file you want to convert is a normal PDF file( and editable PDF file), please choose this option to convert your PDF file.

Step 4 Select a save location and click  to start the conversion.

When the conversion completes, you can directly click the checkmark icon  to locate the converted file.

 

Part 3.2 How to convert scanned PDF to searchable PDF?

Step 1 Add scanned PDFs

There are 3 ways to add the PDFs:

1. Drag-n-drop the target PDFs on the main interface directly

2. Click  button, select the target PDFs in the pop-up window, click Open

3. Click File> Add Files… on the menu bar, select the target PDFs in the pop-up window, click Open

 

To delete the added PDFs, there are 2 ways below:

1. Select the target PDFs, click  button

2. Click File> Clear All, then all the added PDFs will be cleared

 

Tips: If you want to convert a password protected PDF, you need to click icon of PDF list to enter the open password.

 

Step 2 Download OCR Module

When you import a scanned PDF or image, Cisdem will auto pop up a window to ask you to download the OCR Module.

Step 3 Select range (Optional)

Step 4 Select the output format as OCR PDF and click  to select the proper languages.

Step 5 Convert

Select a save location and click  to start the conversion.

When the conversion completes, you can directly click the checkmark icon  to locate the converted file.

 

Part 3.3 How to create PDF from other file formats?

Step 1 Click "Creator" tab on the top to switch to that PDF creator mode, and then add files

There are 3 ways to add the files:

1. Drag-n-drop the target files on the main interface directly

2. Click ​ button, select the target files in the pop-up window, click Open

3. Click File> Add Files… on the menu bar, select the target files in the pop-up window, click Open

 

To delete the added files, there are 2 ways below:

1. Select the target files, click  button

2. Click File> Clear All, then all the added files will be cleared

 

Step 2 Select page range if you need (Optional)

Step 3 Select a save location and click  to start the conversion

Tips: 

1. If you want to merge all the imported files into one PDF file, you can slide on  before clicking 

2. When the conversion completes, you can directly click the checkmark icon  to locate the converted file.

 

Part 4 Update Application

We always suggest users to use the latest version of the program.

When you launch Cisdem PDF Converter OCR, Cisdem will auto check for updates.

Also, you can click Cisdem PDF Converter OCR > Check for Updates… on the left top menu bar to manually update it.
